April 2012 Meeting

Sew 'n Tell from todays meeting: These are some blocks Kare is making for a Postage Stamp quilt.  The blocks are made from 1.5 inch squares!  Each block contains 144 little squares . . .
 This is the black + white quilt Deb L was working on at the Guild Retreat in February
 This is a black + pink quilt named Opposites Attract that Deb made for her daughter
 Deb also made another BOM in a logcabin setting
Doris G made the same BOM in a log cabin setting as Deb, just a different colorway
 This is Doris G's civil war quilt named Patriots in Petticoats
 Linda made 14 pillowcases for donation

 This is another wall hanging/tablerunner made by Kathy W that was originally supposed to be two placemats
and this is a cute purse for her grandsons little girlfriend!

 Pat M made a baby quilt and backed it in flannel
 Carolyn showed us an apron that her cousin Donna made

Carolyn finished a Thangles Autumn Leaves Quilt.  She eliminated the piano key border and chose a leaf print fabric instead.
Today, one of our guests showed us some pillowcase dresses (25 of them) she is making for an orphanage in Haiti.  They were really cute.
 She also brought a quilt she is making from a Julie Bragg pattern named Civil War Soldier Quilt  
 lastly, she is working on another civil war quilt, I think she said one of Barbara Brackman's patterns . . .
